Aries-Pisces Loops: Head Over Heels

Most astrologers right now are pondering over the significance of multiple planets across very varied timescales ingressing Aries, retrograding back into Pisces then moving forward again into Aries and continuing along. This is in the short term Mercury currently and until May, Venus currently and until June, as well as in the long term Saturn and Neptune entering Aries this spring, returning to Pisces in the fall, then returning to Aries by the end of winter 2026 and remaining there for the coming years. Clearly, the faster, more personal, inner planets are foreshadowing what the slower, more external, outer planets will do on a grander and less localized scale. This doesn’t mean the inner planet activity matter less; many people are triggered by particular Venus synodic cycle events, and it may be that Venus’ retrograde in Aries always corresponds with big shifts in your life story (go back to March eight years ago, and eight years before that, and eight years before that etc. to find out if this is the case for you), we’ll just have to live with Saturn in Aries (5/24/25—9/1/25, 2/13/26—2028) and Neptune in Aries (3/3/25—10/22/25, 1/26/26—2039) for much longer, giving them more time to set the scene and modify the macrocosm.

Aries is bold, impulsive, initiatory, athletic, individual, independent, autonomous, capable, effective, skilled and trained where as Pisces is whole, all, one, empathic, ideal, clairvoyant, romantic, nostalgic, blending, holistic, dramatic, boundless, and atmospheric. What might it mean to become bold, act independently, rethink your maneuvers to return to a more blended and holistic immersion then after a period of reflection move forward more resolutely into initiatory autonomy? Have we become sick of escaping into streaming media and opioid drugs and are now ready for action and excitement? Although, before we spark off new activity with any follow through we turn back for some final doses of reality melting drama while simultaneously heed obligations to formulate our holistic infrastructure so when boots hit the ground running we have robust psychic protocols in place.

I just asked ChatGPT to cast my natal chart and it confidently and articulately informed me of my destiny, although it had several of my planetary placements incorrect (The Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter were all in the wrong signs). Extrapolate this nonsensical assuredness to everything in our world becoming AI integrated. Now imagine the upcoming move into engaged autonomous media systems (Neptune conjunct Saturn in Aries) now consider the upcoming backslide of these planets back into nostalgic escapism before they move again in mid 2026 into Aries more permanently. AI roll out seems dangerously immature, and we can see that by Uranus’ upcoming entry into Gemini in July (7/7/25—11/7/25, 4/25/26—2034), where it will sextile Saturn-Neptune in adolescent resonant Aries, and disrupt information, communication systems, and data exchanges. I’m not predicting apocalyptic crashes, but more a kind of scrambling of information akin to a 50% miscalculated natal chart, or a natal chart miscalculated differently every time you go to cast it. Interpretation then is random, simply fortune cookies. The art of astrology becomes only sortilege at best. But this is merely a metaphor for a wide spectrum of continually randomizing data leading to decision making and action taking detached entirely from reality in real estate, economy, medicine, psychology, relationship, community, politics, environmental management, justice, and everywhere else. Luis Buñuel, Terry Gilliam and Mel Brooks come to mind.

This type of nonsense grafting is not necessarily unprecedented. Classical texts of Chinese Medicine such as the Ling Shu state that you should know the cycles of time when performing acupuncture, and doctors who don’t are in the dark. Thinking this was only a reference to the general season is an oversimplification. The Huangdi Neijing spends a considerable amount of attention to season, and season’s interrelation with cardinal direction and color in the context of the body’s viscera and channels, but it goes on to also assert “All the laws of acupuncture must attend upon the sun, the moon, the planets, the stars, and the four seasons. These are the eight factors of the atmosphere, and when the atmosphere is established one can apply acupuncture.” Modern Taoist medical almanacs online have made the Lunar Stations, or Xiu “symbolic”, in that there is now a Xiu attributed to each 24 hour day, rather than tracking the Moon’s progress around her sidereal cycle, or, noting her position against the backdrop of stars and how that correlates to the moment within the seasons of the Sun. Similarly, the Chinese Medical “organ clock” is set to contemporary 60 minute hours so we can look at a wristwatch and relate symptoms (such as waking up in the night) to one of the five viscera. Obviously, the energy of internal life processes were not originally set to the ticking of Big Ben, but to what the Huangdi Neijing refers to as the atmosphere established by the eight factors: Sun, Moon, Planets, Stars and seasons. Indeed, the five element organization in taoist medicine is based on the five visible planets, so their positions would likely be important in diagnosis, but in the advent of Gregorian calendars, clocks and time keeping standardization these phenomenological dynamics have become largely irrelevant; but, in a holistic system what does this mean for treatment? Treatment is applied, in part, off of randomized data.

Of course you see this elsewhere as traditional systems are migrated into modern convention and disconnected from the natural rhythms of which is their basis, like in astrology generally, the rift between the Tropical and Sidereal zodiacs. I think such rifts are specifically correlated ontologically at the moment with the emergence of AI into integration with the tools and applications that assist our existences. I noted that on the New Years Eve that inaugurated 2025 many people were expressing no need to celebrate as New Years “wasn’t real” to begin with, it was just the turning of an arbitrary digit, what was there to celebrate? The number? The collective sensing the artificiality of chronological integers as the tempo of our lives seems noteworthy as an observation in a moment when artificiality is poised to lead us along in our business driven by often randomized and partially scrambled data sets guiding incorrect assumptions. Of course this seems at the perilous end quite deadly, catastrophic, and maybe at the more shallow depth intellectually regressive, spawning irrevocable confusion which degrades knowledge and assists clumsy blunders IRL.

Clearly, yes, the planets are tending to be stricken with retrogrades as they attempt to cross over the degrees of initiatory East, as if to metaphorically and archetypally rise up over the horizon and get Spring sprung. The steadfast Sun seems to be the only planet right now able to get the world to renew itself uninterrupted, but this is also thrown off course by the eclipse shadow it will receive on the Aries New Moon not long after Vernal Equinox— a shadow cast from the other side, reaching from tropical Pisces to smear the Sun with darkness from whence it has recently come. This chthonic splash allows for otherworldly elements to enter the plot suddenly, propelling the plot onward in a turbulent manor and catalyzing acceleration in the story. More fumbling over the start line, but, things are not always able to be timed with perfect precision and efficiency. Indeed, the eclipse prior in Virgo may have literally removed some of the more delicate components to the apparatus, trending us towards a much more broad and bold approach.

Babies often surprise their mothers by being born premature. In typical fashion the crown of the head is the first body part to be struck by light and the feet the last. With the reversals, shadow grabs and detours present in the current astrology we might be wise to not expect things to go in this regular, predictable order. Similarly, we continue the theme in life with standing on our feet, where the soles so often are in darkness underneath and the top of our head pointed to the sky above and in contact with light. The current astrology has us on a number of occasions flipped upside down for a time. Aries, the head, and Pisces, the feet go through some loops, in which we may become the Hanged-Man card but pulled in the inverted position, so even though we appear upright, the world around us is turned over. Looking to the sky to see what seems to be the Moon flying from east to west in a rapid arc only to realize it is the clouds moving quickly the opposite direction from high elevation wind. This is what retrogradation is. The planet has slowed down and the rest of the system moving at relative regular speed makes it appear from a geocentric perspective to go in reverse. Illusions which modify our perspective, and bring us into thinking that is augmented by the spectacle. We’ve been conned, hoaxed, swindled. Although, maybe its not as sinister as that, maybe it is the stage magicians craft. But, we didn’t know these acts of sawing people in half and so on were staged, so we proceed under a whole different set of assumptions, and from this we build a world entirely detached from reality… or do we?

Luca Signorelli

Egregores, tulpas and other constructs can be quite strong, and gain in effectiveness as they are engaged with and emphasized exponentially. What is at play in the placebo effect is also functioning in the perpetuation of grand falsity, like belief for instance the entire christian period between Classical polytheism and the Enlightenment. It can be millenia or never at all that we come to the conclusion something wasn’t really what it seemed. Our moment of incoherence may never be recovered from on a mass scale. What about in our personal lives, where we tend to hold on to our sense of agency? Can we understand what’s going on and set our selves up for success within our own lives? To a degree we have more control than the macrocosm does, as we are specific to ourself rather than general to the collective masses. But as you read this you might be thinking that precisely that specific to general spectrum dynamic is of contention in this moment of internet failings, corrupted media, errant leadership, and degenerating paradigms. Astrologically, it doesn’t appear we are going to keep our heads (Aries) above water (Pisces) so we must practice our free diving breaths or make sure we have some scuba equipment (Saturn). There very well be a reason we are forced to take this dive into that which is pre-spring, and of our past, recent or distant. Are we going to retrieve something that had sunk? Do we need to see something in a submerged place? Do we need to adjust something below or test the depth? Is this a memory needing retrieval? A dream? Is it that we can’t abandon the water altogether? That we get thirsty when things heat up so much we need liquid in vast quantities to quench us? Why won’t spring just start as normal? Did some path locking ice blocks refuse to thaw and need to be revisited so they loosen their density and agree to dissolve.

Jacques Le Moyne

Many years ago I was traveling in late February—early March from the West coast to the East in North America and got synced up with the movement of an unseasonably warm weather system which arrived with me in Maine at the end of the journey. There was several feet of snow on the ground but the temperature was in the 80s. Birds were in an uproar and even some trees began to bud earlier than normal. The temperature soon dropped back down well below freezing for the next few weeks, and as a result many apple trees that season bore no fruit. They believed the illusion that spring had arrived ahead of schedule.

Thomas Hart Benton

The spirit associated with the first degrees of Aries in the grimoire tradition is Lucifer, who’s name means the dawn bringer, simply light on the increase like Vernal Equinox itself. Lucifer is considered the superior of all the other spirits which appear in the grimoire lists and has the ability to compel them all to provide the magician with their particular abilities, which can be thought of as related to the essence of the part of the season to which they belong zodiacally. This makes sense, all of the activity of the year follows forth from the event of Spring Equinox and the increase of light and warmth; as the days become longer than the nights, plants grow and animals get on the move. The spirit in the Grimorium Verum who relates with the final degrees of Pisces would be Huictigaras, who’s ability is to either cause sleep or insomnia, reflecting Pisces’ nature of dissolving, letting go and immersing in the all. Why does Spring fall back into the thawing of winter? Why does the head invert with the feet? Why does the compeller of all spirits get transferred to a spirit of sleep? Is this all just a dream? Are we imagining things? Are we disoriented?

Vincent Van Gogh

As far as Neptune’s copresence with Saturn and being urged on by the North Node, the answer is technically yes. So if we are blending the imaginal, mystical, and hallucinatory with our sense of fluid structure and pumping more high saturation into the cocktail perhaps then the Dreaming needs to be a part of the plan, and the what happens in the field of the “Spirit World” needs to be taken seriously, and elements of this need to be brought into the future cycle.

Bailey Constas

I had a dream the other night where I was shown a donut type shape in the context of healing, the same shape physicists display to explain extra dimensionality. If reality was more than a point it was a line and more than that that was an X Y Z axis, mapping three dimensional reality, but now every point on that grid, what if instead of being a point it was a donut like ring, and there was surface area everywhere that all simultaneously extended into other dimensionality. The dream included people asking each other for photographs taken when they first met years ago where one person was the age they are now in the photo and the other was the age they were then in the photo. The significance of doors in dream, vision, art and magic were discussed, in which someone said “when a door opens something can come through which can destroy everything about that reality”. A sequence ensued where a group of people were hanging out in a house and suddenly one of the people there vanished. When the others went to search for her they opened the door and found a dead buck lying on the doorstep, just shot. No one heard any gun go off, but later they found the girl who vanished nine miles away in the woods and she recounted having seen the guy with the gun take the shot at her in the house and in that moment she switched location with the deer. By the time I was waking up the notion was that as sleep regulates your body you dream and you can view elements of your life story being rearranged from the regulation which is exactly the same process as acupuncture regulating the body but since you are awake you can’t see the narrative effects displayed in dreams but you can observe shifts of symptoms and sensations in the body, emotions and mind. This reminded me of Pisces and Aries, the former like the sleep regulation and dream feedback and Aries like the acupuncture penetration with needles effecting energy. I contemplated this sameness despite drastic difference in procedure and thought about the South Node eclipse in Virgo. There’s more than one way to skin a cat, and maybe we need to know that right now. I thought about Aboriginal Dreaming and wayfinding. That orientation in the landscape is constant and perpetual, that one is never lost, and always in the realm of ancestors and spirits and memories encoded into sight and way where cardinal direction and orientation of one multifaceted node of being is always in synergic connection to another. Cosmogenesis eddying in primordial return of location to location.

Pablo Picasso

What is the purpose of this time periods’ labyrinthine circumambulation? Is there a meditation or ceremony which precedes the narrative action of the next fifteen to twenty years of story? Do we need to retrieve dream before we proceed into these activities? Can we not properly do what we are incarnated to do without being infused with and in sync with this dreaming? The Shape from the Prayer to Mene which concludes the final 13ish degrees of the zodiac is Key, referring to the processions of the Kleidogogia, the key bearers’ parade where devotees and temple patrons march to the seasonal openings of the doors of the gods so they can stand before the divine reveal of the statuary which reconnects the mundane to the sacred. Perpetual renewal. In this moment we cannot simply big bang a universe into being all in one go, but instead in a kind of repetition sequence, a tapping awake, a kind of ritual dance which awakens the next episodes of existence. We will likely trip, unaware of the steps, but it is this kind of experience, one of future memories, we fold into accidentally, colored by the occurrence of novelty itself, as the spot on body which is unique and may be interpreted a vast number of ways, unfixed in meaning but denoting definite specificity. If I do this it will set me apart, but that deed gets assimilated and spreads throughout the pool, so I do this even more truly unique gesture and it cannot be copied and catalyzes a whole new cycle.

Uniqueness of gesture in action within the field carrying knowing of dreaming into the imagining of how things can now be done and assembled into reality. We may carry out this recipe in a unique and resonant fashion for ourselves, acknowledging the passive and malicious version flowing through the world of performative macro-media artificiality. Our approach may be the antidote of the unguided or misguided parallel sequence to which we holistically balance.
